The Nike SFB Gen 2 8″ Boot Gets a Price Increase, Stays DA PAM 670-1 Compliant

Inspired by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman’s service during World War II in the 10th Mountain Division, Nike created the SFB Boot. Now, the brand has introduced the 8″ boot’s second iteration, the Nike SFB Gen 2.

Like the original SFB, the SFB Gen 2 is fully DA PAM 670-1 compliant. Designed for first responders, military professionals, law enforcement, and tactical athletes, the boot features a durable leather and nylon canvas upper with extra puncture resistance at the forefoot. Additionally, an internal rock shield should also protect against punctures and reduce pressure.

The new SFB Gen 2 features an updated locking lace system that allows wearers to lace up once with a pull at the top of the laces for quick on and off. The boots rides atop a Free-inspired foam midsole with an aggressive rubber traction pattern. Sawtooth details at the arch should offer good grip for roping and the outsole is stitched on for durability. The added durability comes at a slight weight increase, bring the men’s size 10.5 boot to 17 ounces.

In typical Nike fashion, the warm weather boot has gotten a price increase; last year’s $150 Nike SFB Field 8″ Leather is being replaced with the $165 Nike SFB Gen 2 LT 8″. However, that price increase can be offset with Nike’s military discount (10% off).

The Nike SFB Gen 2 is available now in Coyote (which perfectly matches the U.S. army uniforms), Sage, Black, and British Khaki for $165 at Nike.com.

  1. I burn through boots so fast at work, especially these. The Nike boots are comfortable but they rip easily.
