Sheryl Swoopes was the first female basketball player with a signature shoe, and now she is the first to have her shoe return in Retro form.
The first to sign a WNBA contract and the first to have her own signature shoe, Sheryl Swoopes was doing her thing back in the ’90s.
While the original Nike Air Swoopes isn’t making a comeback, the Nike Air Swoopes 2 is and we’re excited. It would have been nice to have started at the line’s beginning, but the Swoopes 2 was a bit more well rounded on-court compared to the original.
However, if the sales of the Nike Swoopes 2 do well enough, I’d love to see the return of the Nike Zoom Swoopes. Those always stuck out to me as a teen.
The Nike Air Swoopes 2 releases August 17 for $140 in white/black-royal on SNKRS in North America, and in white/black-red releases September 7.
Let us know what you think about the Air Swoopes 2 returning in Retro form and if you’d be interested in grabbing a pair.

And totally agreed – Swoopes 1 is the ISH. Swoopes 6 (Premier) is the best performer… its a mid cut Jet Flight
The Nike Zoom swoopes is dope. I’m a man and I would definitely hoop in the Nike Zoom swoopes.
I’d like to see one of the Wear Testers give these a performance review.
