Nike Football unveiled their brand new Vapor Speed uniforms this week in Beaverton, OR.
The five-day event kicks off the summer and fall seasons, when the bulk of football athletes’ time is spent in practice. Tailored specifically to this training period, the new lightweight uniform is designed to amplify speed and performance through an economy of technology; it places innovations only where they are needed while providing ample protection.
THERMOREGULATION
The jersey features lightweight Nike Dri-FIT fabric that provides ventilation while wicking moisture. Ultra-durable mesh is strategically placed on the back of the jersey to maximize breathability and ventilation. Dual-layer compressive fabric in the pant targets hamstrings and quadriceps to help keep major muscle groups warm and ready. Plus, perforation below the knee delivers breathability and thermoregulation in key sweat zones.
LIGHT-CONTACT PROTECTION
Lightweight, breathable padding on the shoulders helps increase durability, making the Nike Vapor Speed uniform perfect for body-to-body and body-to-ground contact. The same padding technology is placed on the knees and hips to provide premier practice protection and prevent burns and rashes. For additional protection, the pant is equipped with internal thigh-pad pockets
FIT
This uniform also offers a specific fit, guided by athlete insights, to coincide with the demands of little-to-no-contact practice and help develop agility essential for game-day contact. The jersey moves with the body and features V-neck construction for comfort and mobility. Offset seams spreading from the center of the chest and back enhance comfort by eliminating chaffing and seam stacking. Additionally, offset seams are located on the pant, at the inner thighs, to reduce abrasion.
The Nike Vapor Speed uniform will be available on Nike.com and in select Nike retail locations in Spring 2016.
