Reported a couple of weeks ago, Jordan Brand and Nike SB are teaming up to pay tribute to the Air Jordan 1 OG High, a basketball shoe that was often used for skateboarding in the 80s.
Originally intended for basketball, the Air Jordan 1 wound up being a skateboarders dream shoe with the sneaker’s high collar, durable cupsole, low to the ground board feel and Air cushioning. Not to mention the original Air Jordan 1 wound up being heavily discounted, with some prices going as low as $19.99, so it wasn’t that hard to buy and trash with such a small investment.
Releasing in both high top and low top flavors, Nike SB and Jordan Brand are paying homage to important locales in the respective histories of Jordan Brand and skateboarding that include popular skate culture locations such as Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Paris.
Expect the Air Jordan 1 Low to be available on April 1, while the Air Jordan I High x Nike SB colorways release May 25. What are your thoughts on the Air Jordan I High x Nike SB collab? Sound off in the comment section below.
