Several Nike Air VaporMax Plus colorways will be releasing next week, including an homage to the original Nike Tuned Air.
Now called the Air Max Plus, the original Nike Tuned Air had individual Air units tuned at specific pressures for maximum cushioning. While that is no longer present on the Air Max Plus, the original shoe grabbed the attention of shoe enthusiasts all over the world.
Next week, Nike is releasing the Air VaporMax Plus ‘Original Fade’ as an homage to the 1998 original. It flaunts the same Hyper Blue fade used on that Tuned Air, which, according to Nike, set a precedent for gradient shading across the upper. The shoe also features reworked Tuned Air branding at the heels and insoles.
The Nike Air VaporMax Plus ‘Original Fade’ will drop alongside several colorways on April 26. Each colorway will retail for $190 and be available at Eastbay.com on release day.
