Many of us have been iffy on collaborations lately. Suffice to say, collaborations have saturated the market — lots of creation without substance is what makes them total turn offs. However, there are always exceptions.
We remember back in the 2005 when there was a complete riot on the New York City streets. What caused it? An insanely rare collaboration between the Nike SB Dunk Low and Jeff Staple: the Nike Dunk “Pigeon.” It was that collaboration that provided the platform for other companies to follow in order to create rare and out of the box collabs.
Jeff Staple has been up to no good lately, in a positive manner, and we’re definitely here for this. The Staple x Nike collab is back on the rise, but this time, on an updated silhouette. That shoe is the Staple x SNEAKPEEK x Nike Air Max Zero “Pigeon”.
As you can see, the visual influence comes directly from the colorways previously utilized in the 2005 Nike SB Dunk “Pigeon” design Jeff Staple utilized. Shades of gray and orange are inspired by the colors of the pigeons commonly seen all over New York City, home of Staple’s brand. The heel is embroidered with the letters “NYC” that represent the Staple Design location. This particular collaboration is with a brand called SNEAKPEEK, located in the Philippines. The limited number run will be raffled directly at its store(s) overseas on August 26.
There has been no release date in the US and no updated price. However, stay tuned here on WearTesters.com while we obtain the latest updated info. What do you think of the updated Nike and Jeff Staple collab? Do you think the Air Max Zero was the right choice? Sound off in the comments.
