Nike Air Max Uptempo 95 ‘Chicago’ | Detailed Look and Review

The Nike Air Max Uptempo 95 ‘Chicago’ was recently re-released and we have a detailed look and review.

They’re not exactly like the original, but they’re close enough.

The changes made between the Retro edition and the original Nike Air Max Uptempo 95 ‘Chicago’ are not enough to make someone like myself skip on the release. I’ve always wanted a pair in this colorway and now is my time to enjoy them.

The toe is the first thing you’ll notice is different, as an additional black nubuck panel was added. The Air Max units are not as large as they once were, something most of us have gotten used to by now, while the color of the Air Max units are now white instead of the bright red. The colored Air units are the one change that I wish didn’t happen, but again, I’ll still enjoy the shoes so it wasn’t a deal breaker for me.

Materials are all synthetic which, I’ve been informed by many with original pairs still in-hand, are just like the original release in 1995. While I appreciate the materials being back and true to OG form, they’re still not good materials.

At $160, you’re paying for pure nostalgia. Is nostalgia worth $160? For many, the answer is no. But these will be getting discounted before you know it so if you really want a pair then you’ll be able to grab them under retail soon enough.

If you were interested in grabbing a pair now, they’re available at all Nike Sportswear retailers such as NikeStore.com and Hibbett.com.

  1. too bad I don’t have any luck with this cushion’s longevity. it would have been nice if they made the outsole last longer.
