Traction – The traction performs just as great as it looks… straight beastly! There really isn’t much you can say… we have been through this before. Great traction is great and horrible traction is horrible. No gimmicks are present here, just something that works. I like that a lot and thing the story telling needs to be done along the upper and not the base of a sneaker.
Cushion – Lackluster is a complete understatement. Of all the awesome tech Nike has at their disposal… this is what we receive? C’mon … when cushion suffers then the transition ends up feeling blocky instead of fluid.
Having an Air Max unit is great but you must compliment it with some proper foam otherwise it just won’t work… the LeBron 7’s felt better than these. The real kicker is Nike’s pricing on this model. $100 and they give you next to nothing. Anyone who doesn’t realize you can walk into any Nike Outlet and find a more balanced cushion platform for less money deserves to be taken advantage of.
Material – Fuse is used along the upper and it’s flexible yet durable. I will say that Nike’s most recent Fuse is great. It’s not too stiff or painful to wear like it used to be. While I personally enjoy leather, a synthetic such as this isn’t bad.
Fit – They fit true to size and lockdown is great. The midfoot and heel are highlights in the lockdown department while the forefoot could be set in a bit more narrow but if you have wide feet then you won’t be complaining.
Ventilation – These are very light and ‘airy’… literally. If you picked these up you wouldn’t believe they were a big man shoe. Ventilation is spot on and there is nothing to really complain about. The tongue is thin and breathable while the vents aren’t blocked or hindered whatsoever.
Support – The overall support is decent. Nothing too fancy, just the basics. A solid fit and a support bar under the arch providing some torsional support is pretty much all you need and it works.
Overall – The Air Max Hyperaggressor has some great attributes but the brick-like cushion just doesn’t cut it… it didn’t work for me as a Guard and I don’t know if it will provide a decent level of comfort for larger players. If you have a pair or plan on grabbing a pair, a cushioned insole is recommended… unless you like the firm cushion under foot of course.
My advice… go to an Nike Outlet and grab another pair of sneakers… any pair at all and they will offer more comfort than these will. Traction is awesome but some of us –especially us older guys – need some cushion to keep it moving.

That cushion scares me thought
Waitaminute, the traction looks identical to the one used in the hyperenforcers, and those had an 8.5 out of ten. Are these even different outsole wise?
They dont look identical or play identical… just because herringbone is used on both doesnt mean they are the same. Check the images for yourself.
just wanna ask you which one has better durabilty and comfort, this one or the nike hyperfuse 2012? thanks.
LOL best comment on the video, “if you cant pivot properly you shouldn’t be playing basketball.”
Thats true, your right, I googled both shoe traction patterns, they look very similar though. And with both your reviews on the shoes, I agree they can play different. I hurt to discover that the cushion on the aggressors suck, man…I almost pulled the trigger buying those.
I assumed they would perform the same so I was surprised they didnt. Glad you didnt buy these… they really missed the mark on them IMO. They are SUPER light and breathable with great traction and fairly solid fit… too bad theyre not comfortable at all.
The KD V’s look to have tge same setup as far as the heel cushion which worries me a little. The phylon i hope is softer.
is it just me but if you just put a kd logo on these it looks like the KD V. lol. btw NW any plans in reviewing the hyperfuse 2012?
wow – wasn’t expecting court grip to be in its favor. ive never had a stiff unsoft shoe be grippy.
Such a shame that Nike has to put out 10 different hyper shoes every year and there all pretty much the same from a performance stand point (with 1 or 2 excelling). They should really work on develop better technology (like zoom max, more foam based cushions) and improve there signature athlete’s shoes (Lebron, Kobe and Durant). The Lebron this year looks to be much improved and the other 2’s signature shoe is still up in the air. I feel like JB is more evolutionary in terms of performance on a year to year basis compared to Nike.
Does traction on these Hyperaggressors beat cp3.VI’s traction?
Cp3.VI has the best traction. Period.
I’m a guard and recently got these.. would these work for a speedy guard? What would be my best option?
Hi can u please do a performance review on the nike hyperchaos. thanks
Thanks for this review, I was thinking on getting a pair but I probably won’t. I’m an older guy and cushioning is one of my main features I look for, then traction. I am new to your site and I find it extremely informative.
this is a great review because i was looking for pair of basketball shoe. I couldn’t decide wether to get the hyper aggressor or the hyper chaos. I saw your review on the hyperaggressor and i’m a forward who looks for cushion. Most likely i won’t get that shoe i hope the hyper chaos aren’t like the aggressor. Thanks for the review.
I think one of the biggest issues that hindered cushion was the firmness of the rubber used for the outsole. It was just so much harder when compared to my kd v id which were equipped with xdr. Though to be fair the KD V isn’t the best comparison with its pliable rubber. Sad that Nike really messed this one up. There’s just so many other budget friendly performance shoes that are better
This is a great shoe after all. I like it I use it for like 9 months now and yeah cushion is a bit problem until I bought a new one. I often use this shoe rather than my Lebron 10’s cause brons is too damn heavy for me as speedy guard. Overall I really like this than any shoes that I have. Btw when is the Bron 11 T-rex be out?
might seem a bit late considering this was released long ago but this shoe does work after awhile, mine are really comfy now they used to be harder than a kangaroos dick but now the upper really flexes well. durability is a problem though, the outsole is coming off and the toe box is slowly detaching itself. i do agree with night wings comments though, better off with just foam cushion than this.
