How would you feel if you were among the first people to ever represent your country in the Winter Olympic Games? Scared? Honored? Probably a bit of both right?
That’s exactly the case for the three women who are representing Nigeria as members of the nation’s first-ever Olympic Bobsled team. Seun Adigun, Akuoma Omeoga, and Ngozi Onwumere are the first three Nigerians, male or female, to participate in the Winter Olympic Games.
As partners of Under Armour, the brand has highlighted the team’s journey to the Olympic Games in a mini series launched on the company’s YouTube page. The first, titled “Expect the Unexpected,” is an excellent way to describe this phenomenon.
The series covers the inspiring story of how these women got to the Olympics, all while showcasing the difficulties these fierce women have faced getting there.
Under Armour will be supporting more than 400 Olympic athletes from 16 countries, across 14 sports during the Winter Games. Off the ice, the Nigerian team will be supporting Under Armour’s latest apparel and footwear including the brand’s new HOVR sneaker line.
You can follow the team’s journey through Under Armour and through its Instagram page, @bsfnigeria. Stay tuned to the Winter Olympics to watch their story unfold, and check out the series below.
