There is no denying this fact: Under Armour has a hit with the Forge 96. Riding the chunky midsole wave and using minimal branding, UA has created a shoe that appeals to the fashion and influencer world alike. So far, we have seen very limited colorways, but Malcolm Jenkins has unveiled perhaps the best one yet.
Arriving at the Imhotep Charter High School in North Philly on September 24, Malcolm showed some Eagles love by visiting with the football team at its practice and dropping gems that could only come from a two-time Super Bowl champion and Eagles team captain with 10 years in the game.
Malcolm Jenkins is a UA Sportstyle Pioneer and is part of a global team leading Forge Forums, a group that celebrates the doers in communities: the artists, innovators, athletes, and designers making the world go ’round. “I play (football) for my impact; for opportunities (like today) to influence the community,” Jenkins said in a statement. “To influence my teammates and to influence the game. It is heavy on my heart at this point in time, and it’s what motivates me to continue.”
After urging the athletes to do their part to make the world a better place, not just on the field but in their cities, neighborhoods, and classrooms, Malcolm and Under Armour then blessed the teams with new gear: Highlight cleats, apparel, and a newly painted field for practice. “I challenge you in everything you do — whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, anything in life — find what motivates you, find what you play for,” said Jenkins.
Then, a neon sign was lit and the new Forge 96 was unveiled in a then-unreleased green-and-white colorway. The stunning colorway will see a global release on September 28 when it hits UnderArmour.com for $120 alongside two more Forge 96 Track builds.
