Klay Thompson’s Shoe for the Postseason, the Anta KT3 Playoffs, Has Dropped

The Warriors are up two games against the Spurs and with Curry sitting, the other Splash Brother has to cook. During the postseason, Thompson has been wearing the Anta KT3 Playoffs.

In Game 1 against the Spurs Thompson scored 27 points with near perfect shooting, and in Game 2 he scored a whopping 31 points and helped out with five assists. The shoe he’s been racking up these numbers in is actually a mix of two of his past signature sneakers.

While the Anta KT3 Playoffs is nearly identical to the regular KT3, it features the new lacing system from the KT Light 3. That lacing system is secured beneath the midfoot and runs through the knit upper to cinch the entire shoe when the laces are pulled.

Additionally, the KT3 Playoffs no longer features the removable shroud used on the regular KT3 so the Velcro at the heels has been removed.

Otherwise, the KT3 Playoffs and KT3 use the exact same tooling; Anta’s EVE system that uses two different density pods at the heel and forefoot for impact protection and cushioning. You can take a look inside the sneaker to learn more by checking out the Anta KT3 deconstructed.

The Anta KT3 Playoffs is available now at Famuji Sneaker for $115 in two colorways, ‘Home’ and ‘Away’.

    1. You should look at the deconstructed photos (I can’t post links, but Google will quickly point you to it). This is a decoupled design but there’s a TPU chassis running from rear to forefoot likewise to the Sprint Frame in older AdiZero models (same designer). I personally don’t feel any unstable sensations in loading heel/forefoot independently.

Coincidentally just last night I finally caved on ordering the Black Panther Lows. I like how the highs fit, but lacing them up is a chore. Doesn’t help that I take my time to not twist flat laces. It’s otherwise a really good design/package. Had this been offered under the more prominent brands, I feel like it’d get more widespread praise.

  1. Hey thanks! I should have been more mindful looking through deconstructed pics. Yes, it looks pretty good actually.

I was looking towards Lows myself! It would be very helpful to hear your impressions on them, not much info available out there.

      1. FINALLY landed at my door.

For the KT3 low in general, much like what NW said in his vid: sizing is more TTS. Toes are really close to the front, though. The independent bootie and base upper setup fits pretty well. Interior heel pads hold you in despite the internal counter feeling very soft. Ankle in general feels pretty free, and maybe more than some people would like.

I think with the wide base, it does feel a bit “flat” for a low. You don’t get that quick/light feeling. Also gone are the reinforcement “belts”/”loops”. I don’t expect to totally miss those.

For this being the BP edition, QC on the finish is kinda lacking on the small text details, but the main prominent components are nice. Overall what you expect from any sneaker company. The upper is more flexible than it looks. Think premium Hyperfuse. No real “bubbling” or “pop” when you tie tight. I like Black Panther and all, but the colors on this shoe are dope for what they are period.

Only thing I don’t like are the laces. I didn’t like them with the KT3 high I have also. They feel cheap because the interwoven accent color is stiff.

Overall I think the high does a better job as bringing something different — and you might like the strap — but the low is more on the safe side to get the job done. It might feel like a basic low to some extent, but solid.
