The BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells is on and FILA, a brand that has deep ties to tennis, has shown out for the event with a limited edition knit Original Tennis 2.0.
The FILA x BNP Paribas Open sneaker is debuting at this year’s tournament in Indian Wells and will be available exclusively at the FILA retail shop on-site. FILA is the official apparel and footwear provider of the BNP Paribas Open, the largest ATP world Tour and WTA combined two-week event in the world.
According to FILA, this year, tournament officials will pair custom FILA uniforms with this collaborative sneaker that honors FILA’s history in sport and celebrates current trends in sneakers — like the inescapable knit upper.
This Original Tennis 2.0 is the first rendition of the sneaker done up with a knit construction and it utilizes an inner bootie construction. Dressed in a Navy/White/Atomic Blue palette, design elements like the flag and branding remain. Additionally, this Original Tennis 2.0 flaunts a red nylon sockliner and extra padding. The FILA x BNP Paribas Open will come in a custom box.
The FILA x BNP Paribas Open Original Tennis 2.0 retails for $80 and is available now at Indian Wells.

The only update Fila needs to be making is killing that terrible over branding.
