The fourth installment of the collaborative series between Reebok and The Distinct Life has released. The entire series, designed by Rick Williams (founder Burn Rubber Detroit), has utilized the recently resurrected Reebok Bolton silhouette.
The series has been inspired by contemporary photographers and four of their photographs. In an interview, Williams said that the #DistinctViews hashtag was a way for The Distinct Life to celebrate some of the amazing photography on Instagram and connect with the shooters out there capturing our world.
This latest sneaker is inspired by in incredible photo (pictured below) that Ta-ku took of Tokyo at night. Thus, the ‘TakuBeats’ edition opts for a premium black perforated leather upper with colored reflective material layered beneath. The shoe sits atop a black-speckled white midsole and features pops of color on the outsole.
I purchased the first part of this series, the Tin Grey/Shark/Black, back in February of this year and was impressed by the quality of the materials used — the embossed details and the smell of the leather was enough to satisfy me. The entire series was done in limited quantities but may not have taken off because of the small PR push. Now, the first three parts of this series are on sale at Burn Rubber.
The latest version, The Distinct Life x Reebok Bolton DV ‘Takubeats’, is available now ahead of its November 3 release date online and in-store at Burn Rubber Detroit for $125 (in US men’s sizes 8 to 13). To pick up your pair, click here.
