Here’s a Detailed Look at Virgil Abloh’s Off-White Air Jordan 1 ‘UNC’

The collaborations between Virgil Abloh and Nike will come faster as we get deeper into 2018. The latest iteration is the Off-White Air Jordan 1 ‘UNC’.

Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton’s new artistic director of men’s wear, has once again utilized the iconic Air Jordan 1 silhouette. On it, he showcased premium leather, a deconstructed mesh build on the upper, “deconstructed” Swooshes, “Air” branding on the midsole, and orange stitching at core areas.

The Off-White Air Jordan 1 ‘UNC’ pays homage to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina, with its Carolina Tar heel blue colorway (although the colorway is officially listed as White/Dark Powder Blue-Cone). You can also see the “85” behind one of the heel panels (Michael Jordan’s rookie year).

This Off-White AJ1 released out of the blue on the Nike SNKRS app on May 23 for $190. Those that missed out may get another opportunity as the shoe is rumored to release again June 19 or June 23, according to leaker @py_rates.

Do you hope to plan to grab a pair of the Off-White Air Jordan 1 ‘UNC’? If you miss out, do you plan on going to the aftermarket to purchase? Sound off in the comments below.

  1. What is it with Off-White shoes that it became a sensation for hypebeasts? In my opinion 2x, I hate its aesthetics and I just can’t understand why hypebeasts like it? Is it because it is a concept of Virgil or anything? I will be really relieved for the explanation.

    1. It would be the collaboration behind it, yet everyone opinions is different. What you might not like someone else might like.
