One of Charles Barkley’s lesser known sneaker models, the Air Force Max CB, is rumored to be getting a retro next month.
Straight from the Air Raid and Air Jordan 8 era, the Air Force Max CB was a heavy-as-hell basketball shoe that could hold its own outdoors (it was built like a tank). Outfitted with colors from Barkley’s time on the Phoenix Suns, the shoe features a synthetic nubuck and leather upper with a midcut design.
The adjustable strap should secure the midfoot to keep wearers locked in while the 180-degree Max Air cushioning at the heel offers impact protection. That Air unit is housed within a foam midsole that will likely be dense — true to its ’90s original.
This Nike Air Force Max CB will release on October 12, according to leaker US11, for $140.

I had the white pair of these back in the day. Got them at my local Foot Locker for $69. They were HEAVY as sin but really comfy. I still have the box but the shoes are long gone. I’ll grab these new ones when they hit the sale racks.
I wish they didn’t shrink the heel air bubbles. Wonder if there is a reason for that?
I love the Force series and especially the CB line!
I still got the hyperfuse version but these do look lighter just don’t like the speckles on the midsole & didn’t need the orange
