Nearly every brand is making a knit sock that sits atop an outsole. However, Brandblack has teased its rendition, the Gama II, and we’re excited.
Whether it’s the $600 Balenciaga Speed Trainer, Reebok’s $200 Sock Runner, or any number of adidas Primeknit offerings, the trend has been set — people want socks with outsoles. And why shouldn’t they? These sneakers are usually lightweight and comfortable.
However, Brandblack is doing things a bit differently with its Gama II. The next iteration of its tubular knit Gama silhouette, the Gama II, goes even more minimalist by ditching the overlays and color for a simple black and white build. Additionally, the Gama II appears to sit atop a new textured tooling that carries its look onto the heel counter.
According to Brandblack, the Gama II will be arriving in the brand’s SS18 collection. There is still no word on pricing or tech specs, so stay tuned.

That flex actually makes me less excited. The original was comfortable as almost a suedo-house slipper dog walking shoe but it had no support and no real arch so wearing them for a while started hurting. If these are even less stable I’ll still buy them but they won’t be a going out sneaker for anything more than maybe a few drinks. They look great tho.
It is a bar though, I mean if it didn’t flex at all…
Thanks for the tips on the Gama
I hate this sock trend..
that midsole……looks an awful lot like boost…….just sayin’
Clowns. This silhouette is dope. And that rock texture on the back heel counter is a nice touch. Brandblack always on point with details. Can’t wait to see what other colorways they will be releasing.
