In an unexpected turn of events, there appears to be a new version of the Air Jordan 9 Retro coming out.
Dubbed the ‘Baseball Glove’, this AJ9 pays homage to MJ’s time on the baseball diamond (where he stole 30 bases). Although his time in the MLB was short lived, the AJ9 stood out as a prominent fixture during his stint playing for the Birmingham Barons.
Featuring what appears to be black premium leather on the upper, this AJ9 has webbing on said leather to emulate that of a baseball glove, hence this build’s name. The outsole and the lining of the sneaker is white, an aesthetic homage to the Barons jerseys. Lastly, a “45” is stitched on the heel instead of the usual “23” (to honor the number MJ wore during his baseball playing days) while leather laces complete the ensemble.
For now, take these images with a grain of salt. There is no official word on when or if these will release.

I’m still waiting for Jordan Brand to re-release or retro the Jordan 9 “for the love of the game” shoes.
Those are nice. But I’ve never really been a fan of the 9’s so it’s a pass for me.
