Reintroduced for Asics’ AW17 collection, the Gel-PTG MT pays homage to the brand’s first basketball sneaker.
Introduced in 1983, the Fabre Point Getter was Asics’ first foray into basketball footwear; it featured kangaroo leather, perforations for ventilation, and a slightly articulated outsole for grip and agility. Now, the classic has been updated for lifestyle with modern tech including an OrthoLite insole an a fuzeGel heel wedge unit for better cushioning.
True to the original, the Asics Gel-PTG MT has dropped in two simple colorways overseas — black/black and black/white — for £89.00 (approx. $115 USD) each. Overseas retailers like Hanon, Stuarts of London, and TGWO have the Asics Gel-PTG MT stocked but there is no official word yet on when the silhouette is coming Stateside. Stay updated with your local boutiques.
