While perhaps not the best boots for a snowy winter, Under Armour has launched a new colorway of its Jungle Rat boot: Sage. And, of course, UA is applying tech honed in other areas, like basketball, to create a more technical boot.
The Jungle Rat 8″ boot utilizes a DWR finish to repel water without sacrificing breathability but it does feature medial drainage vents that help keep your feet dry so water and snow could get in (because these are, after all, jungle boots — not tundra boots). The full-length Micro G midsole is reinforced with a TPU shank for increased torsional support and the Ortholite sockliner is anti-microbial. The upper is comprised of leather and 900D nylon textile for soft and lightweight construction and the entire boot sits atop a low profile rubber lug outsole.
The new colorway, Sage, looks very different based on which photos you see. For instance, the boot seems much more light-Mint in the photos on Burn Rubber, but much darker everywhere else (I’d bet that the boot is actually darker like its pictured everywhere else but the style numbers are the same).
The new colorway is available at Burn Rubber, KicksUSA, and YCMC for $135.
The Desert, Coyote Brown, and Black colorways are also available now at a number of retailers listed below. If you cop at KicksUSA they’re 25% off ($101) at checkout. Share your thoughts in comments.

Sage is the color of boot we usually wear in the Air Force. My job also requires the tan and coyote options. I might try these out if they feel anything like an actual basketball shoe instead of, well, a combat boot.
Thank you for your service and support! I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts if you do end up spending time in this boot!
The boots are great, i wear the coyote brown everyday. I am in the Army and they are compliant with uniform regs. The only problem I am is finding them in my size online anywhere now. It is crazy every site seems to be selling them off but not getting replacements. I wanted to know if they were discontinued?
That’s great man, thank you for your service! I do not believe they have been discontinued but after being on sale for ridiculously low prices at almost every retailer I think some shops have preferred to not restock them.
