Saucony, a brand owned by Wolverine Worldwide, Inc., has announced the appointment of Anne Cavassa as president, effective immediately.
Cavassa will enter the job at Saucony with over 20 years of experience in global brand building and innovative product marketing, according to SGB Media. She served as chief customer experience officer and senior vice president of marketing and apparel for the Brooks Running Company from 2015 to 2017. Before Brooks, Cavassa served in leadership roles at Timberland, Nike, Ibex Outdoor Clothing, Eastern Mountain Sports, and Reebok International.
“Running is about the journey and the meaningful connections we make along the way,” Cavassa said in a statement. “I’m so excited to join Saucony as it celebrates its 120th anniversary. As president of Saucony, Cavassa will work to further Saucony’s position as a leading global performance running and lifestyle brand. Cavassa will take her place on the senior leadership team at Wolverine Worldwide and report directly to Richie Woodworth, president of the Wolverine Boston Group.

According to SGB Media, Wolverine Worldwide’s brands include Merrell, Sperry, Hush Puppies, Saucony, Wolverine, Keds, Stride Rite, Chaco, Bates, Hytest, and Soft Style.
While Nike is undergoing its #MeToo reckoning it’s great to see women promoted to top position in the footwear industry.
