As we near the time of the final game of the NBA Finals, Jordan Brand sets to release a special Air Jordan 8 to celebrate MJ’s first of two three-peats. WearTesters was able to get a pair in hand so we wanted to share the Air Jordan 8 C&C ‘Black and Metallic Gold’ with you all.
In the past two years, we received two colorways that commemorated two of MJ’s championships: the Air Jordan 6 ‘Championship Pack’ (aka ‘Cigar’ and ‘Champagne’) as well as the Air Jordan 7 in it’s respective ‘Championship Pack’. To complete the trio is the Air Jordan 8, the shoe that MJ wore during the year of his third championship title. The Air Jordan 8 C&C ‘Black and Metallic Gold’ looks to be one of two colorways to celebrate MJ’s third title, but not along the lines of the ‘Cigar’ and ‘Champagne’ themes as seen in previous years.
The Air Jordan 8 C&C ‘Black and Metallic Gold’ features a completely black tumbled leather upper. Gold hits can be found on the Jumpman logo on the tongue, as well as on the two clips on the straps. Black continues onto the straps as well, which are also in black tumbled leather. Along with the black and gold detailing along the shoe, there is a bit of a party that comes with the shoe, literally. Confetti is attached to each pair inside it’s own unique bag that is attached to the shoe. Confetti detailing hits the midsole, outsole, and inner lining of the shoe. The outsole and midsole are black as well.
Materials on the Air Jordan 8 C&C ‘Black and Metallic Gold’ may be one of the best features of the shoe. The black tumbled leather has a premium feel to it, and is very soft. Unfortunately, the cuts of the leather aren’t very thick, so you won’t be getting a true premium leather this time. Nonetheless, the leather is better than your regular “general release” Jordan Retro.
The Air Jordan 8 C&C ‘Black and Metallic Gold’ is scheduled for release on June 25 for a retail price of $250. The box is upgraded to a special edition box, much like the Air Jordan 6 ‘Championship Pack’; one of the largest complaints from consumers when they purchased the Air Jordan 7 ‘Championship Pack’ was the lack of effort with the packaging.

Not a big fan of that confetti look but the leather looks very nice.
