    1. if any shoes were ruined by hypebeasts, they’d be the grape 5’s and playoff 11’s. That’s just based off of the many people that I see wearing them that wouldn’t be able to tell if a shoe was a fusion or not

  1. $170 for a pair of 5s???? Let the insanity/ hypebeasting continue…..

To put things in perspective, in 2006 i bought a pair of the retroed fire red 5s for $135.
At that same time, I bought the red suede jordan xx1 ( a very underrated shoe) for $175.

Nike can keep can retro jordans $160+ that aren’t a pair of 11s; more for y’all lol I’m good.

  2. to be honest, as much as i love the air jordan line (what kid that grew up playing ball and watching the bulls in the ’90s doesn’t?), i can’t really bring myself to buy retros anymore….it ain’t so much the price that bothers me- though that is a consideration, seeing as how i can buy a great pair of performance kicks for that price (or two if they’re on sale)- it’s the fact that you have to jump through so many hoops to get a pair, as well as the fact that jordans are now associated with a certain contingent of people who have probably never touched a basketball and are looking to wear them with whatever they see their favorite style icons wearing…i know, there’s no point lamenting or whining about that, that’s just how things go, but man, walk the trendier parts of town in hong kong and you see a pair of bred XIs, IIIs or IVs every 2 or 3 minutes…there isn’t much of a point in joining the crowd, really…

i’ll always have love for the line, and there is no denying that there are certain AJs that are especially close to my heart, whether it’s because i think the design is timeless (the 2s in particular) or because i have fond memories associated with playing in them (the 6, the 8, the 12, the 13, the 17), but i don’t care enough about exclusive/rare products or ‘breaking necks’ to go through the trouble of buying any…

…all that being said i did pick up a pair of the Xs that just came out, because they are still all over the place on store shelves here…i can hang with GR retros that don’t break the bank

  3. My ticket got pulled today! So excited for this release, I missed every other pair of 5s this year, but from what I heard in your video, this is the best quality leather since my Olympic 6s! Really excited about these, your video review is definitely what made me decide to cop, quality in materials looks great!
