Air Jordan 13 ‘He Got Game’ | Detailed Look and Review

The Air Jordan 13 ‘He Got Game’ is back and I couldn’t wait to take it to the court.

For the record, this shoe is simply the White/Black-Red Air Jordan 13 for those of us old enough to remember the CEO commercial. However, we’re labeling it as the ‘He Got Game’ for SEO purposes. This new generation only refers to our beloved classics by strange monikers like ‘Candy Cane’ and ‘Bred’. Hey, it is what it is.

At least the shoes are still awesome — and they’re nearly identical to the original. Well, in the looks department. The materials are definitely not as nice as what we saw back on the 1997/98 releases of the Air Jordan 13, or the 2008 Countdown Pack, but the overall look and shape is as close as we’ve seen since ’08.

Luckily, the tech specs haven’t been dumbed-down so we still get heel and forefoot Zoom Air underfoot. For those that have been rocking with us since the Kicks On Court days, that means the shoe is still playable; you can check out my full thoughts at my Air Jordan 13 Retro Performance Review.

Side note: I’m thinking about re-doing a lot of the older performance reviews (not re-testing, but recreating the reviews in the newer style and visual format). Let me know what you all think about that.

If you’re interested in grabbing a pair of the Air Jordan 13 ‘He Got Game’ it will be available at all Jordan Brand retailers beginning August 4 for $190.

  1. I like the concept of recreating the reviews, but not just focused on the shoes. I could imagine you’d also comment on or criticize your old self – hair style, tone of voice, backdrop, background music, etc. Sort of “what the hell was I thinking”, looking back vibe to it. And maybe *spoiler alert* top it all off with a video celebrating the 10th year of your first youtube review? 😀

  2. These seemed to majorly GR. Early access at Nike, then they dropped another early reserve today. I wanted to get them in store, but I played it safe and bit on the reserve in case I can’t make it out on Saturday. As long as materials are straight, I’m good. It’s silly to complain if these are widely available.

Really wanted these to finally go with the Class of ’97 pack, which I know Nightwing was teasing about a couple years back.
