The Air Jordan 1 Mid Gets a Tar Heel-esque Build

The Air Jordan 1 is arguably the most iconic Air Jordan there is today. Why? One word: banned. Although, it’s a funny story.

In 1984-85, MJ’s first shoe — the Nike Air Ship, not the Air Jordan 1 — was banned from the NBA for violating the leagues uniform rules; its black and red colorway was not happening, according to the NBA.

Shortly thereafter, that black and red colorway arrived on the true Air Jordan 1. The rest, as they say, is history.

However, we aren’t here to talk about the Air Ship. Don’t sleep onthe Air Jordan 1 Mid — especially in this Tar Heel-esque colorway. There’s just something about navy blue and baby blue that goes together so well. Like glaze and donuts, Kool-Aid and sugar, Obsidian/University Blue and Air Jordan 1, classic.

This Air Jordan 1 Mid features a Dark Obsidian upper, University Blue accents, striped laces, and the traditional Wings logo in University Blue. All this sits atop a white outsole that sets the Air Jordan 1 off.

There is no official release date for this pair just yet. Stay connected to WearTesters for updates.
