adidas Y-3 Pure Boost

The recently released adidas Pure Boost is getting the Y-3 treatment for a more premium look and feel.

The Y-3 line from adidas and designer Yohji Yamamoto is a high end fashion line. Y-3 is taking the recently released Pure Boost model and giving it a summer friendly makeover. A full mesh upper with a premium suede heel along side an embossed tongue with the Y-3 branding, and wax laces give the Pure Boost a luxury feel. This release will be extremely limited to only 500 pairs and will hit Y-3 retailers mid-June.

Overall i think the design of the Y-3 Pure Boost is beautiful, but at a price of $280 USD i can live without picking up a pair. In Japan Yohji Yamamoto is an icon so shelling out that much cash for his name in Japan is understandable but as a US consumer i just couldn’t bring myself to spend that kind of money for the Y-3 branding and mesh upper. If i were rich and i had that kind of money i would definitely pick up a pair because the design and colorway is absolutely beautiful.
