Even in the high-tech world of 2014, the idea of a pedometer incorporated into a shoe sounds a little strange, so imagine what people thought when the adidas Micropacer first released in 1984! This weekend marks the return of the classic runner, complete with an LCD screen in the tongue cover on the left shoe.
adidas refers to these as a tribute to the original pair, which means they’ve worked to update the materials where possible. As if the screen on the tongue was not futuristic enough, the upper features a metallic silver leather. Hits of baby blue can be seen on the Three Stripes and at the heel, and the white midsole is broken up by red and black sections. Velcro secures the tongue in place.
Look for these to drop at select retailers like Oneness on Saturday, August 16th.
