Somebody got the adidas NEXT LEVEL 2020 early! When that somebody is on the WearTesters team, it’s your lucky day. #teamearly
The “latest in laceless basketball” is here (almost) with the 2020 follow up to the adidas NEXT LEVEL. And boy its looking like a potential performance beast! First thing, if you have to replace a tried and true herringbone traction pattern, using a multi-directional foot-map pattern with some tacky rubber seems like the way to go. The Lightstrike midsole is no slouch either, bringing validity to the often overused industry term “lightweight cushion”. The shoe’s main selling point — a truly laceless upper — remains unchanged. Though there are a few tweaks/additions that add to what was already a surprisingly supportive shoe.
Whenever testing resumes, we’ll focus on these questions:
- How well does the outsole performs in dusty settings?
- Can the outsole be durable when playing outdoors?
- Does this iteration of Lightstrike cushion and new materials hold up throughout testing?
Where things stand now, the adidas NEXT LEVEL 2020 may be at the top of Leak’s to-test list.
