In an effort to mix streetwear, sportswear, and high fashion, adidas Originals has unveiled a new silhouette designed exclusively for women: the adidas Arkyn.
According to adidas, the Arkyn is rooted in the brand’s vintage look, but it features modern upgrades like a full-length Boost cushioning midsole. Equipped with a mesh upper and a perforated mesh tongue, the Arkyn should provide a sock-like fit.
To make it contemporary and trendy, the adidas Arkyn uses an over-designed lacing system that attaches to the edges of the sneaker via plastic overlays. Vintage three-stripe branding hits the medial and lateral sides of the sneaker.
To introduce this new women’s silhouette, adidas has enlisted several modern women for its marketing campaign: model and celebrity Kendall Jenner, Serbian artist Ana Kras, stylist and founder of Meta Flora Marisa Competello, musician Syv De Blare, and professional footballer Florencia Galarza.
The adidas Arkyn will launch globally on April 5 at adidas Originals flagship stores, online stores, and select merchants for $130. It will come in four colorways: dark tone, dark blue, black, and classic white.
