After months of leaks and rumors the adidas Crazy BYW (Boost You Wear) is finally here.
While the brand made it clear in its announcement that the Crazy BYW is returning to the court for a “hostile takeover,” the shoe has been designated an adidas Originals release meant for comfort and “lifestyle basketball.” We can’t pretend to know what “lifestyle basketball” is — perhaps that’s just shooting around with no actual runs.
The Crazy BYW adds Boost to adidas’ fan-favorite Feet You Wear tooling. The three-part podular midsole blends anatomically correct design, which should provide natural motion, and comfortable Boost technology.
The upper of the Crazy BYW is a mix of a past and present; the breathable knit is reinforced with leather for something that echoes the ’90s original but still feel contemporary.
The adidas Crazy BYW will retail for $170 and release in limited quantities on January 27 at adidas.com and select boutiques in the U.S. A global launch will follow on February 15.
There is no official word on a BYW model specifically for on-court use. However, adidas does have an a leather and suede Crazy BYW build coming soon.

So like… is “Lifestyle Basketball” gonna be people who want to LOOK like they play???? I imagine it’s kinda like poser skateboarders! LOL!!!!
You mean like everyone who wears Jordans?
For. The. Win.
COPPED
R.I.P
If anyone decides to play in these there will be some broken ankles
Lifestyle basketball means wearing bball shoes but never actually playing
I’d love to see the model they played in not this
Almost got excited here. The lifestyle…..basketball versions look better in this colorway, but I would like the basketball basketball version.
Ha thats what they should call the other one- the basketball basketball version. That one looks better than this and is actually for performance. I see no reason to get the lifestyle version over that. Maybe if this was on a major sale and the boost is ultraboost-level I’d get it.
So is this different to the BYW model you showed pics of last week, which seemed to be more performance-based?
I don’t like the shape of this shoe. Will wait for the basketball version.
And yea – def waiting for the basketball-playing version. Not a fan of this silhouette.
Already on my wishlist!
I saw the FYW logo…does that mean Adidas is allowed to use that technology again? But from the shape of the outsole, it doesn’t look like the authentic FTW…
It’s wild how much better Adidas is doing than Nike with Legacy Kobe models…
This looks like a slipper with a boot or upper, supported by marsh mellows
Auto correct changed bootie to “boot or” my bad y’all
I was super hyped for the return of FYW. IDK if I’m going to be willing to buy the performance model if the pricing is close to $200 tho. thats a bit ridiculous for any shoe imo
