With no warning, the adidas AlphaBounce ‘Chinese New Year’ popped up at retail. However, that isn’t the most interesting bit of news.
Dubbed the adidas AlphaBounce 1, the addition of a number suggests that the next AlphaBounce model, the AlphaBounce 2, may be on the way shortly (although there is no official word on when it will arrive). Recently, the AlphaBounce saw a redesign to create the AlphaBounce Beyond, a model better suited for performance in training.
According to adidas, the AlphaBounce ‘Chinese New Year’ features a cloudy, dark grey seamless ForgedMesh upper with areas of support and stretch for fit. The shoe uses a sock-like construction and a Fitcounter molded heel counter to secure the Achilles. It rides atop Bounce cushioning and a grippy rubber outsole, and flaunts red accents for CNY.
The adidas AlphaBounce 1 ‘Chinese New Year’ is available now at adidas.com for $100 in sizes 6.5 to 13.
