After Reebok and Teyana Taylor announced their partnership at the beginning of 2017, Taylor became the face for the “Free Your Style” campaign, aimed at bringing back the Freestyle Hi for its 35th anniversary. Over 30 years ago, a company named Reebok rode the aerobics wave to number one in the athletic shoe and apparel market. Hard to believe now, but women in tight leggings and bright shirts two sizes too big were everywhere — and Reebok made the perfect shoe to match their look and workouts: the Freestyle. Found in every color imaginable in both high and low, the Freestyle was a mainstay for many years and has been in constant production since the mid-’80s.
Now, it’s time for an update. Reebok and Teyana Taylor are looking to bring the Freestyle back to prominence with new colorways and materials, coming with ’80s-style “Round the Way Girl” looks and vibe.
The latest is the Freestyle ‘Color Bomb’ pack that launches today. It is comprised of two Freestyle Hi builds — Mineral Mist and Pink Craze. Each retails for $75 each and is available now at Reebok.com.
