2017 saw the return of Reebok’s DMX Run 10, a fan-favorite running model from 1997. Now, the sneaker is getting premium and contemporary builds for 2018.
Dubbed the DMX Run 10 ‘AFF’, the shoe has been presented in two contrasting builds: white/gold and black/gold. Inspired by hip-hop’s “Bling Bling” culture, both sneakers flaunt bold gold hardware usually reserved for the uppermost eyelets.
“I wanted to make an over-the-top lux version of the DMX Run 10,” Reebok designer Xavier Jones told WearTesters. “I used the gold eyelets as my hero — sort of a reference to Gucci links. And nice premium quilted leather uppers.”
According to Reebok, the DMX Run 10 ‘AFF’ rides atop an EVA midsole with “DMX moving air technology” that should cushion each phase of your stride — you can also see it through the smoked outsoles. It isn’t all the way true DMX, but it’s as close as he brand is going to get; my pair, once broken in, felt great underfoot.
The Reebok DMX Run 10 ‘AFF’ is available in White/Gold for $150 on Reebok.com. The Black/Gold build is available overseas and should pop up on the Stateside Reebok website soon. Keep an eye out at Reebok retailers if you’re feeling these premium builds.
Two OG Reebok DMX Run 10 colorways are on sale at Eastbay.com for $108.

How does the DMX feel compared to the DMX Foam? Is it the same thing but better, or is it actual air?
I did a short run in my pair and once broken in, the shoe actually feels well cushioned. I have original pairs and yes those feel different — better step-in comfort — but the EVA on these really needs some time before it feels nice.
Thanks for the reply! So it looks like Reebok won’t have true DMX after all…bummer, seeing I was hoping we would get the Iversons back true to form. I never had the original DMX 10s, but I did have the Answer 2, 4, and 5, so I was hoping for that kind of DMX feel. These still sound like they’ll be nice runners to collect since I suspect they drop heavily in price.

The only thing missing is the I-Pac which provides just a bit more step in comfort.
