Kerby Jean-Raymond, founder of New York-based fashion label Pyer Moss, has partnered with Reebok for two separate lines for Reebok Classic.
According to Reebok, Jean-Raymond worked hand-in-hand with Reebok designers to create a collection of men’s, women’s, and unisex sportswear products that will “reimagine athletic staples” next year.
The ready-to-wear collection will debut at NYFW in February of 2018 and arrive at retail in August 2018. When Jean-Raymond spoke with Business of Fashion he reinforced the fashion-forward approach to his work with Reebok, a “sleeping giant.”
“My whole career, all I’ve ever wanted is something like what Yohji [Yamamoto] has at Adidas [with Y-3]” he told BoF. “Reebok has never done something like this before.”
In a series of modern executions on classic Reebok heritage pieces, the collection should offer a mix of old and new.
“Pyer Moss exudes the type of fearlessness and authenticity that Reebok Classic stands for,” said Todd Krinsky, General Manager at Reebok Classic, in a statement. “We are excited to welcome Kerby Jean-Raymond and his designers to the Reebok family and look forward to working together on the upcoming collection.”
