After covering months of leaks and different builds of the sneaker, Nike has finally unveiled the Air Max 270.
And right from jump, Nike has made it clear that the Air Max 270 will be explicitly for lifestyle and not performance, unlike many of the historic Air Max runners of the past. According to Nike, the Air Max 270 unit is the first 100% lifestyle Air shoe.
Inspired by the Air Max 93 and Air Max 180, the Air Max 270 features the tallest-ever Max Air heel unit at 33mm tall. Additionally, that added height makes for the biggest heel volume displacement yet for an Air Max sneaker.
Now that Nike has spent millions developing this Air unit it plans on putting it on “a variety of silhouettes in 2018” — just like the VaporMax unit.
If you’ve been tuning in to WearTesters you already know that there will be two builds of the Air Max 270; one version with an engineered mesh upper, and another with a partially knit upper.
The Nike Air Max 270 debut on Nike SNKRS on February 1 and hit select retailers. Of course, Nike has not announced pricing information for the new sneaker.
