Singapore’s Limited EDT has linked with Asics for a Gel-Lyte III and Gel-Lyte V inspired by the Vanda ‘Miss Joaquim’, or Singapore orchid.
The Limited EDT x Asics Gel-Lyte III ‘Kuro’ (black in Japanese) is the more subtle part of this pack with a noir premium leather upper and a metallic gold heel cup. However, the laser engraved orchid graphics on this GLIII take things up a few notches; they’re precise and beautiful, and make the shoe look like it has tattoos.
The second piece of this Vanda pack is the ‘Murasaki’ (purple or lavender in Japanese) GLV. It flaunts vibrant hues, yellow stitching all around, and unique flower graphics throughout the upper. Wrapped in premium black leather, the ‘Murasaki’ sits atop a two-toned grey and purple midsole. (I had initially thought that this GLV was honoring the heroine of from The Tale of Genji but that does not seem to be the case.)
The Limited EDT x Asics Vanda pack has landed at Sneaker Politics and Premier in very limited quantities. Both pairs retail for $160 and I’m pretty sad that neither is available in women’s sizing.
Do you love the laser engraved ‘Kuro’ pair as much as I do? I may have to black out that heel cup though…
