adidas hopes to capitalize big time on the dad shoe-bulky sneaker trend by bringing tons of its ’90s runners out of the vault. The next one, the adidas Ultra Tech, arrives this week.
True to the original, adidas has brought back the Ultra Tech with all of its ’90s flare including striking overlays, its webbing wrapped midsole (part of the inspiration for the Deerupt Runner), and bulky shape.
The Ultra Tech features a mesh upper, open mesh collar, premium pigskin nubuck overlays, and a terry lining. The TPU lace ghilly is so ’90s, and the suede at the heel is the icing on this cake. Cushioning is supplied by a regular EVA midsole, but the puck under the heel should offer some additional comfort.
The adidas Ultra Tech will see its global 2018 retro on June 1 in two colorways: Crystal White/Shock Pink/Core Black and Crystal White/Real Lilac/Core Black. The shoes go live on adidas.com at 3:00 AM ET and retail for $120 each. Overseas retailers will also be stocking the sneaker.
For more bulky on-trend runners adidas has coming check out the Yung Chasm.
