The Nike Zoom GP Gets Deconstructed

The Nike Zoom GP, one of the best Nike Sportswear releases in recent memory, gets deconstructed by the good folks over at FastPass.

Dissected and deconstructed, the Nike Zoom GP Retro is next up on the chopping block.

The shoe features great materials, real carbon fiber at the shank, heel and forefoot Zoom Air along with Nike’s Monkey Paw support technology. Oh, and a ratchet lacing system that is just as cool now as it was in 1999.

Retail is $160 which is a bit pricey, but you can tell that the Sportswear team took its time in researching what should go into the Zoom GP without cutting many corners. Some things are definitely not the same as the OG, but it’s as close as possible and we at WearTesters appreciate it.

You can find the Nike Zoom GP available now at the following retailers: Hibbett Sports (Black/White) | Finish Line (Sonics)

  1. This is my favorite BB shoe ever. Low to the ground plus monkey paw equals no ankle roll. Zoom heel and forefoot. Just an amazing performer.

  2. Inwish they could bring back this in the original colorway of the Tyson-Payton commercial the Black-Green Volt. Great shoe great high school memories.
