    1. Not gonna be the one to discourage you or anything, but realize it’s a combination of hard work, skill, talent and luck to do what Leo Chang is doing.

If you’re going to get to the top, make sure you build a good design portfolio, and more importantly, like Leo said, do internships to show you have experience.

It’s a hard thing to even get accepted to Nike or Adidas or a large corporation for that matter, and then it’s another thing to be a design DIRECTOR going through the gauntlet of other talented artists. For every Leo Chang there is probably thousands of inspiring sneaker designers working jobs they don’t like.

  1. Dope video. I wish getting into the sneaker industry was easier. It’d be pretty sweet if you could be an “indie” shoe designer, like how indie musicians and indie game designers came about, but to get all the materials and put things together would be pretty hard.

I guess the closest thing is “custom” artists who make a living off commissions.

    Looking forward to pt 2

  2. Hey NW, I feel you had a big part to play in steph curry’s all-star vote lead. It’s awesome that your hard work has gotten you in a position where you can make a difference. You’ve earned it man. You rock!
