Puma Ralph Sampson OG | Detailed Look and Review

The Puma Ralph Sampson OG Mid (really a high) released earlier this year and we finally have a review for those interested in the 80’s throwback sneaker.

The 80’s was a wonderful time in fashion and sports. Its awesomeness bled into the early part of the 90’s and then morphed into something even more epically awesome come the mid 90’s and early 2000’s. However, it all started back in the 80’s where the Puma Ralph Sampson was born.

Worn by Ralph Sampson, a 7′ 4″ former NBA player. Sampson is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He was a three-time College Player of the Year and first selection in the 1983 NBA draft — the year I was born. It’s crazy to think that this shoe was built for a guy that stood at 7′ 4″ on the hardwood as rubber cupsoles aren’t known to house much cushioning — times have certainly changed.

While I wouldn’t take these out on-court today, they’re aesthetically appealing enough to wear regularly off-court. If you wanted to know a little more about the shoe and what it offers we hope you check out our video review above.

You can still find the Ralph Sampson Low available in two colorways now at Puma.com.
