Nike athlete Mat Fraser has received his own Metcon 4 PE. It’s inspired by weightlifting and motorcycles, two things near and dear to the two-time fittest man on the planet.
The shoe features tons of unique details just for Fraser including the bull’s skull on the tongue — which is reminiscent of a motorcycle jacket patch — while the lining is quilted like a motorcycle seat. More motorcycle details come in the form of gunmetal chrome accents at the aglets and heel clip, and Mat Fraser’s Metcon 4 PE gets treated to leather from the midfoot to the heel.
“These design elements are really about celebrating some of my passions inside and outside of the gym,” said Fraser in a statement. “This shoe gives me such sense of accomplishment. It really gets me amped up to keep doing what I’m doing — working hard and trying to make myself the best athlete I possibly can.”
The heels of this Metcon 4 PE flaunt two circles that represent the two first-place medal Fraser earned at the highest level of global competitive fitness, according to Nike. Fraser’s next PE may have three circles, because he has aspirations of a three-peat. His personal mantra, abbreviated to the letters “HWPO” — “hard work pays off” — are featured in bold on the insoles.
The Nike Metcon 4 Mat Fraser PE will release on June 8 at nike.com and select Nike retailers. While Nike has not announced pricing information, expect it to retail for the Metcon 4’s usual $130.
