Nike Announces Release Dates for the Breaking2 Running Collection

Ever since Nike unveiled the ZoomX foam cushion system people have been wondering when they can grab a pair to try them out. The wait is almost over.

The three models within the Breaking2 collection are ready to release in June and July, giving runners a chance at increasing their speed during their run.

THE NIKE AIR ZOOM PEGASUS 34

Cushion on the Zoom Pegasus 34 comes in the form of a premium Cushlon ST foam that sits over Nike Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel. This is meant to offer a balance of soft cushioning with support. An updated Flymesh upper is made of lightweight translucent monofilament yarn that contains the foot but allows for plenty of air-flow and ventilation. Meanwhile, the radiused heel tapers on the lateral side to promote a natural strike.

THE NIKE ZOOM VAPORFLY 4%

The Zoom VaporFly 4% is Nike’s attempt to enable the first sub-two-hour marathon. Tooling features Nike’s new Nike ZoomX foam that is ultra-lightweight, soft, and capable of providing up to 85-percent energy return. Embedded within the foam is a full-length curved carbon fiber plate that increases stiffness to provide a sensation of propulsion. These features are meant to deliver an average of 4-percent improvement in running economy when compared to Nike’s previous fastest racing flat. The upper also features Nike’s Flymesh material with a midfoot dynamic archband to improve containment.

THE NIKE ZOOM FLY

The Nike Zoom Fly offers a lightweight, soft and resilient Lunarlon foam midsole providing highly responsive cushioning and houses a carbon-infused nylon plate that delivers a propulsive sensation — much like the Zoom VaporFly 4%. There is a 10mm offset designed to minimize Achilles strain and the 33mm stack height offers impact protection mile after mile. The result is one of the fastest everyday shoes Nike makes.

  1. Glad Nike has upped the Pegasus cushion back to what it used to be and then adding some. Forefoot and heel cushion is back and now adding Cushlon, should be a solid set up. I wanna grab the Zoom Fly’s cuts they’re not as expensive as the VaporFlys, probably have similar cushion and look better imo
