The Nike Air Raid – Nike’s most heralded outdoor specific hoop shoe – is set to make a return next year in a number of colorways. They share the cross-strap design featured on the Air Jordan 8 and will provide you will lockdown and durability beyod your wildest dreams… there are pairs still seen on blacktops today from their last Retro run.

What’s the cushion setup? I’m thinking about getting some outdoor specific kicks and the Hyperfranchise are the only ones that really appeal to me hahaha. I’ve been digging a lot of Nike’s retro hoop kicks, mainly Penny-related ones. These look real nice though.
I kind of like the looks of the HyperfranchiseXD over these. Maybe these would look better to me in different colorways.
This isn’t the same Air Raid, is somethings different? I don’t play outside but I’d love to have a fresh pair like the OG’s.
I never saw these the first time around or the retro releases either. When were they first released?
They look durable as anything, but apart from that, their looks don’t really grab me.
What kind of cushioning system did they have?
They first came out around the same time as AJ8, so 93-94. I remember because my mom wouldn’t buy me the Jordans but she got me these because “they looked the same”

I still have the OG’s in Black/Grey. I think they came out round 1993…
They had air in the heel. The Nike Air Jaq was the indoor version. I think those had forefoot zoom. Can we just get lunarlon, Nike?

They have a standard air bag in the heel. No air in the fore-foot. 1st release was in the early 90’s. The black/Grey/White is a O.G. colorway! The others are not! There were 3 colorways in the 90’s Black/grey/white, White/Royal blue/Black, and a african warrior colorway White/Black/ with tribal print straps! I had a problem hoop’n in the rec center as a kid because the sole says “Outdoor Use Only” the rec director was like those shit’s are gonna scuff the clear coat of the gym floor!!! It doesn’t say “Non-Marking outsole!?!?
I got my pair of black/grey i 92 I aactually still have them…and still wear them.

I had these, wound up sporting the Penny’s and Pippen’s non stop. These are in mint condition 12.0 size, if anyone wants I will trade for a 13 or sell at a reasonable price. I have boxes, ect.
