Kevin Garnett Returns to AND1 as Creative Director and Global Brand Ambassador

Celebrating its 25th anniversary as a brand, AND1 is bringing back one of the NBA’s all-time greats to the fold — none other than Kevin Garnett.

There is no denying the cultural impact AND1 had throughout the ’90s and early 2000s, but the brand wants to remind the world not only that it is still here but that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Today, AND1 announced that it has tapped Kevin Garnett — an original brand ambassador of AND1 — for a multi-year deal to serve as creative director and global brand ambassador. The deal brings Garnett back to the company during his retirement from on-court basketball, but he is arguably just as visible with what is becoming a consistent run with Turner Sports and his Area 21 show.

“I’m thrilled to get back to my roots and partner with AND1, one of the best basketball brands in the industry,”said Garnett in a statement. “We have many initiatives underway that we’ll be launching, including my new capsule collection, which I’m particularly excited about.”

The Big Ticket’s deal with AND1 includes involvement in campaigns for footwear, apparel, and accessories, along with a planned capsule collection designed by Garnett. The move marks a kickoff to the brand’s 25th anniversary that is rooted in streetball but also has blended sports, music, and style in general.

“We’re excited to bring Kevin Garnett back to AND1 as the brand’s creative director, global ambassador and strategist,” said President of Sequential’s Active Division Eddie Esses in a statement. “We’re looking forward to working with Garnett and rolling out the innovative programs we have planned, which will further deepen the brand’s connection to consumers.”
