JR Smith Blessed With The Virgil Abloh x Nike Blazer Mid On His Birthday

J.R. Smith’s sneaker collection just got crazier.

The Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard was gifted the Nike Blazer Mid, part of the mega-hyped Virgil Abloh x Nike collaboration, for his 32nd birthday yesterday. The shoe features the exaggerated Swoosh and a red zip tie on the laces.

What makes JR’s pair unique are the words “‘AIR’ SMITH” on the midsole. There also appears to be a pair of OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Prestos for J.R. Smith.

JR’s latest addition adds to his already insane sneaker closet, as the streaky guard has never been shy about his passion for shoes and enormous accumulation of rare sneakers.

As the Cavs guard turns 32, he is poised to make another championship run.

    1. i think you gotta look at them in hand to see what makes some of them unique, there are some interesting material choices and details, i’m not crazy about any of them besides the hyperdunks with the sock dart straps and the vapormaxes, which i think are by far the most interesting pair in the whole collection, but i think some of them are pretty intriguing….

also you gotta keep in mind that off-white is a super hype brand right now, if you’re not a hypebeast it is kind of difficult to understand why people pay this much money for t-shirts or wristbands or keychains or whatever…i don’t understand that aspect of things either

      1. I guess I’m not a hypebeast, lol. I love basketball sneakers, retro and recent models, but this kind of collaborations really doesn’t have sense to me, like the Suptempos for example.

        1. yeah it’s better for you that way man, you save a lot of time, energy and money
i feel like the cabal of hypebeasts is a very exclusive community of consumers who have a surfeit of disposable cash and are hellbent on impressing each other, the rest of the world doesn’t really care how much money you spent on a pair of shoes or a t-shirt

          1. that being said though, if i ever had the opportunity to get the off white vapormaxes for slightly more than retail, i wouldn’t hesitate, i love how they look
