Fresh off a collaboration with the very first hip-hop label Sugar Hill Records, Ewing Athletics has launched a new apparel collection for FW18.
Comprised of three sweat pants and three zippered hoodies, the new Ewing Athletics apparel line covers the basics with a few interesting styles. As fall and winter approach, long sleeves and pants will be coming out (although this 96-degree weather in NYC may suggest otherwise) and having a fresh matching set is always a good look.
“We wanted to offer more product to our customers beyond just shoes — and the demand has been there from our loyal customers who wanted to wear apparel to match the shoes,” David Goldberg, president of Ewing Athletics, told WearTesters.
The Ewing Athletics Sweatpant and Sweatshirt are constructed of a warm heavyweight cotton and polyester blend that should move and stretch with its wearer. Striking red accents on the legs of the Sweatpant add some pop while embroidered Ewing pocket graphics add heritage. The Sweatshirts feature a small 33 detail, an homage to Patrick Ewing’s jersey number, near the cuffs.
“Our shoes may be old school and true to the early ’90s but we wanted the clothing to be more in tune with modern tastes in terms of the material and fit,” continued Goldberg. “We will definitely have more apparel coming in the upcoming seasons as we look to expand.”
The Ewing Athletics Sweatpant ($60) and Sweatshirt ($65) are available in three colorways — White, Black, and Grey — at EwingAthletics.com now in sizes M to 4XL.
