Diadora has been great at bringing its recently re-introduced classic sneakers into the modern age. It has revamped some shoes with woven uppers and introduced its Italia line of made in Italy sneakers. Now, the ‘Bright Protection’ N9000s are waterproof and they glow in the dark.
These latest ‘Bright Protection’ N9000s trade the usual suede and leather for fused uppers that utilize a special membrane to keep water out. Available in two colorways, Bright Green and Bright Pink, they both retain the traditional N9000 tooling. Reflective detailing hits the heels to keep wearers safe when it’s dark, but the glow in the dark bits will also help.
Each Diadora N9000 ‘Bright Protection’ colorway retails for $159.50 at Diadora.com and quantities seem quite limited. There is no word yet on whether these will be releasing at other retailers.
Updating silhouettes with modern tech and materials is always appreciated. Adding waterproofing is a step above and beyond — and it’s appreciated. If only more retro and nostalgia brands decided to push new technologies…

These are perfect for rainy days. Not to many nice looking shoes you can wear in the rain.
Right? Shouts to Seattle
I don’t get lots of rain like the North West but don’t you just water/stain proof all your sneakers? I do and I haven’t had wet feet/socks yet while wearing my sneakers.
They look blue in one of the pictures can you buy them in blue?
