Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 – Performance Review | JAHRONMON

Tread (Condensed) Performance Review- Brooks Review copy

Traction:

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 sports an extremely durable outsole that can withstand any condition. Whether you are on the road, track, grass, or trail, the tread on the Adrenaline GTS 15 will cover you under any situation with no problems whatsoever. This is especially useful for those who run in less than ideal conditions, like wet, and or icy winter roads.

Cushion:

Brooks uses a versatile cushion set up on the Adrenaline GTS 15. It has enough impact protection for those who seek a plush setup, and also provides enough energy return for those who prefer a more responsive ride. The DNA Midsole technology featured in the cushion setup of the Adrenaline GTS 15, adapts to each unique strike for any style of runner. Also the segmented crash pad featured full-length from heel to toe, provides a very smooth transition, that feels seamless and extremely stable, allowing you to focus on your run, rather than fighting what discomfort you may have.

Materials:

Sporting a mesh upper that is extremely breathable for those hot summer days, the materials on the Adrenaline GTS 15 take the safe route. Nothing revolutionary as far as materials go are featured on the Adrenaline GTS 15, but they to an exceptional job of what they can do. Again, the mesh upper is extremely breathable, but is not as form fitting as you would like it to be. Synthetic overlays around the entire shoe provide more structure and support where you need it, like the heel and medial mid-foot, but also provide durability in high wear areas such as the toe box and laces.

Fit:

I would describe the fit on the Adrenaline GTS 15 as a user-friendly experience. The toe box area provides ample space that allows your foot to swell up as your run progresses, and also leaves a little wiggle room you need to prevent the users foot from sliding into the toe box causing discomfort. The lacing system, and heel cup all provide decent lockdown, not allowing your foot to shift all over the place during use. For those who are looking for a one-to-one form fitting experience, may want to look somewhere else, but for those who enjoy an easy going fit that doesn’t get in your way and lets your foot be free, the Adrenaline GTS 15 is right for you. Wide footers will especially enjoy the fit on the Adrenaline GTS 15, as it will accommodate any foot shape and size.

Support:

The Adrenaline GTS 15 has a 12mm Heel-to-Toe drop; this is ideal for runners that over pronate, as the large heel-to-toe drop will support you, making sure your foot strikes in the right way, rather than the wrong way, which can lead to ankle problems down the road. A molded midsole provides torsional support, while a heel cup keeps your foot from shifting, allowing it to remain on the footbed where it belongs. Overall, the support on the Adrenaline GTS 15 isn’t over powering, but not minimalistic by any means. It gives you everything you need, but does nothing spectacular, and assists you more than enhance, which is more evidence of a user-friendly model.

Overall:

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 is a very user-friendly model, and versatility is its best feature. Thanks to its durable tread and traction, the Adrenaline GTS 15 is fit for any obstacle you come across and the extremely stable transition, coupled with the versatile DNA midsole, provide a smooth ride. No matter what foot shape you may have, the fit on the Adrenaline GTS 15 will provide everything you need to feel comfortable during any distance run you embark on. Overall the Adrenaline GTS 15 never feels like it gets in your way, and provides everything you want when you want it. Serious runners might desire a more advanced model to provides more energy return, or one-to-one fit, but for those who want a solid running shoe that can provide an array of attributes, take a flyer on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15.

  1. Not a bad review, overall I do like the shoe. The only negative is the upper IMO, it could be more minimal especially considering how other brands (under armour, nike, adidas etc..) have been getting a lot more minimal on the upper. While shoes from those brands have uppers that feel like socks, these feel like you still have a shoe on, I would’ve like these to feel more like a sock. Nice review, very glad you decided to review the shoe!
