A first look at what is believed to be LeBron James’ seventeenth signature shoe; the Nike LeBron 17.
Back in June LeBron James teased the Nike LeBron 17 via his IG story.
We could see a blurry glimpse at what to expect which showed what we thought was a rear Air Max 270/720 styled unit, forefoot Zoom Air and a new knit build. Today, we have a first full look at what Instagram leaker @street8oy is calling the authentic Nike LeBron 17 after images of fake versions of the shoe made its way online.
Full disclosure, these could very well be fake as well as they do not look exactly like what LeBron himself shared on IG.
As for the shoe, we can see the LeBron 17 moves back to a rear Air Max cushioning setup while the forefoot looks to be an evolved version of articulated Max Zoom Air. It’s an interesting change as most consumers have been enjoying the full-length Max Zoom Air setup featured on the Nike LeBron 15 and 16. The knit looks like Battleknit/Battleknit 2.0, but we’ve heard rumors that the knit used will be new and somehow will incorporate Foamposite into the mix. We’re not sure if that is true or not, or how that will work, but we’re curious to see how it all plays out.
Traction looks weak. Hopefully it performs well as the Nike LeBron 15 had good traction while the LeBron 16 had great traction.
Enjoy a potential first look at what is being called the Nike LeBron 17 and stay tuned for updates as they arrive.
