Maybe they’re switching because hornets rightfully belongs in Charlotte. I wish NOLA could be the Jazz again, but Utah has more history with that name than NOLA. But Charlotte’s situation is different. They have much more history and respect with the hornets name than new orleans ever has. Charlotte broke attendance records and made 14 playoff appearances under that name. Plus hornets goes back to our history in the civil war, but has no real meaning in NOLA. I agree, pelicans is a terrible name for an NBA team, but it’s time for a name change for both cities.
