I was sent this image along with the one I used in the D Rose 5 Teaser post weeks ago and now that everyone else has leaked the image… I might as well write about them.
As Kicks On Court confirmed earlier this month, the adidas D Rose 5 will feature Boost for their cushioning source. SprintWeb, a modified SprintFrame, GeoFit and a molded collar frame for support all make their way onto Rose’s next model. The materials here seem decent but this is just a sample so I wouldn’t use that as a real reference point for the time being… just look at the tech and silhouette to get a feel for what the next Rose will bring to the table.

Considering this is only a sample, I can’t say much one way or the other…Boost is going to be amazing….but if this is an indication of what the actual release will be, there still isn’t much going as far as forefoot cushioning goes
The forefoot isn’t any lower than any other shoe on the market. Boost is used full length here so they’ll be fine.
But the forefoot boost looks so thin compared to the heel
ur heel needs more impact protection. look at the lunarlon midsole/insoles it thins out towards the forefoot. if u have that much boost in the forefoot, it’ll slow u down a bit. idk what shoe nightwing reviewed and said that but he did say it. peace!

The traction and the high off the ground feeling, might not do it for people. Also it will be difficult to really get support onto the shoe w/o tipping over. But it might be possible. Hyperrevs are 90%+ mesh and they seem pretty good.
Would it be possible to couple boost with a pure motion outsole? One can only dream…as I have said so many times on here, the rose 4 is a killer on the court, if the upper was made of a nicer material (tech fit maybe, but that would make them identical to the CQs), I’d say they would be a perfect shoe. The rose 5 looks like it’s gonna feature that nice synthetic nubuck that we had on the Brenda 3s, I can’t wait to play in them.
Oh yeah, it’s about time dame lillard got his own shoe, Nike are marketing kyrie like crazy and dame is definitely at least twice the player that kyrie is, so…

I’m gonna assume that Adidas has re-engineered the Boost foam for basketball use. I’ve tried out the Boost runners in a Dick’s Sporting Goods. I was doing defensive slides and mini-suicide runs. In my experience, I thought the foam felt unstable, almost as if I was gonna tip over, hence why they put that little outrigger-looking piece at the heel. If the Rose 5 is gonna feature the same Boost as the runners, I think it would be better if it was encased within an adiPrene or EVA carrier to give it some stability.
That upper already looks more comfy than current d rose shoes.
The traction will almost certainly be on point.
Hopefully a bit of that boost foam in the forefoot as well.
These will be the first adidas shoe ive bought since the gil zero low. They just removed the 4motion and butchered the retros of those tho so drose 5 it is

Not bad looking from a performance point. They removed alot of the hyperposite and got replaced with fuse, midfoot shank extends to become a lateral support piece, the heel cup/quarter panel looks different, outsole seems to be the the same. Why must they leak the ugly colorways lol. But not bad though. Hopefully he wears it this time. That foamosite by the toe is gone so that might help lol.
You know what… I might be wrong, but it could be a V2. The shank and quarter panel doesn’t look like carbon fiber, but it could be just the lighting.

I cant wait to see more pictures, im stoked about them a huge Rose fan only liked two colorwaves of the past two, I know Adidas has huge Rose lines but they have Mike Conley, Damien Lillard, Dwight Howard, Jeremy Lin,Kenneth Faried, Taj Gibson, Tim Duncan, Tony Allen, Jrue Holliday, D Rose is the voice of Adidas, he’s a big shoe guy and was growing up. It’s similar to the Hyper lines, now the Rose’s will contend with the Lebrons and Kobe’s. Soon Howards, Lillard, will combat Kobe’s, Lebrons. Really every non Jordan Brand. Adidas also has Josh Smith. Their athletes on payroll probably beat out everyone but Rose is one of the most loved athletes despite the past three seasons.
Aside from the Boost foam (which Im hearing good things about) Aesthetically these leave something to be desired. It seems as though Rose likes the most simplest mid-toe shoe look ever.
P.S these are next year, you don’t need to worry about this vs a current shoe, it’ll be next season with the return of D Rose. Also the back on all Rose’s he’s ever worn in game have been the same, the dominant, 773, Rose 2-4, I’m sure the back will be the same. I’ve heard the rear stripes are going and the Rose logo is going on the back I’ve always loved the adidas lines for Rose’s

whoa. loving this one. the sleek clean look. years ago I used to draw my own designs all the time and this looks nearly identical to some of my sketches -that support wing that comes up from the sole and wraps around the ankle. cant wait to see how it fits and performs! I lost a lot of those drawings/ wonder if someone found them
